We arrived at the Gallery Friday morning after a good night’s rest from the flight the day before. We love going to the Gallery on the first day as it’s always much quieter as we have so many orders to place over the one weekend in Germany.
We came across the Gix collection first, Gix is a relatively new designer who we have had for the first time this autumn. It consists of really easy to wear pieces that are made from the finest materials, designed and created in Germany. For Spring the colours are shades of grey, black, sand and white as well as hints of red. The collection has lots of SUPER woven fabrics with dots, stripes and letters all uniquely designed, PLUS many complimentary plain dyed fabrics too.
There are many easy to wear dresses, tunics and tops with swing or tulip shaped skirts. We really love that some of the the tops have ¾ sleeves or t.shirt length sleeves which are perfect for summer. We have picked some well cut and creative trousers and leggings in matching fabrics which really finish off any Gix outfit.
We are also really excited to be stocking Moyuru again next summer. The collection is fabulous, it is always made with the finest material and creative Japanese shapes. The fabrics are a mix of linen and cotton jerseys, which work so well with the Moyuru designs. The colours are mainly neutral and light with a couple of red and blue pieces great for those warm summer days.
When we look round the Gallery we are always keeping an eye out for new and interesting designers to introduce to you.
As we were walking around we spotted a designer which really caught our attention, a polish brand called studiob3, the Mannequin was dressed in a fabulous jacket which had a military avant garde feel to it. As we looked through the collection Keely and I really did fall in love with many of the pieces. The collection is mainly black and grey, as they believe that black is the only constant – the ultimate essence of style. Which I loved as my wardrobe consists of mainly black. I am excited to tell you that the collection will be arriving at Walkers.style at the beginning of December.
Once we finished at the Gallery we grabbed a taxi to the Barbara Speer showroom. We were so pleased to see some fabulous new designs, the fabrics are the regular organic cottons and linens which are cool and comfortable to wear. We have chosen some superb colours, raspberry pink, apple green and bright sky blue. There were also some really useful basic pieces, cotton mesh tops, linen trousers and jersey harems which we have bought in the more neutral tones of anthra, taupe and linen.
We love the Barbara Speer collection as it flatters all sizes. The O/S tops are so useful and for our larger ladies, we have selected really lovely creative trousers which go up to a UK size 22+
After a long yet satisfying day we went back to the hotel in the evening for a lovely meal in their restaurant followed by an early night. Our appointment at the Rundholz showroom was first thing the next day – and yes we were so excited…. we could hardly sleep!
